If your child needs a sports physical for the upcoming season, we’d love to see them at one of our two Pinnacle Urgent Care locations to get them all checked out to play their sport safely! Here’s what you can expect from a sports physical at Pinnacle Urgent Care:
They won’t take up your whole day.
Sports physicals are short appointments. Plan for about 20-30 minutes!
We’ll review medical history.
A care team member will chat with you and your child about things like past illnesses or surgical procedures, allergies, prior injuries (such as concussions), and also get information about your family’s medical history. They’ll also ask about whether your child takes any supplements or medications.
We’ll check vision and vitals.
Your child’s height and weight will be measured, and we’ll also check their blood pressure and perform a basic vision screening.
We’ll perform a physical exam.
Your child’s care team member will listen to their heart and lungs and check their abdomen. They’ll also examine your child’s muscles, joints, and overall strength and flexibility. This will help assess both their overall health and readiness to participate in sports as well as determine whether they have an increased risk of injury.
Bring blank forms with you so we can complete them during your visit.
Be sure to bring blank forms with you for your child’s school or sports organization, because if you do we can fill them out then and there so you can check that off your list!
If you need to make an appointment for a sports physical, you can easily do that on our website. We look forward to getting your child set up for sports success this season!
